She handed Veronica stack of papers, "As you know – the Prince is here for special holiday and I sent you additional information about security and necessary things – please make sure you have your entire crew sign these NDA forms."

Veronica grabbed them numbly, she seemed to still have a job so far.

"And, who is the captain?" Megan asked – she looked through her tablet, she seemed to have been just as flustered as Veronica was.

Adrian didn't take his eyes off of Veronica – the glistened as they looked to her.

She was feeling weak in the knees – but she knew it was from the utter embarrassment.

His eyes reminded her of the coral reef – reflecting a deep green within the ocean.

"Brian," Veronica stuttered, "I mean – Captain Brian Wilkinson."

She gestured towards the door behind her, "I'll get him in a moment for your introductions."

Megan nodded, satisfied – then looking back to her tablet, "Please show us to our rooms – we want to stay on schedule."

A woman's voice came from their small crowd, "Not there were going to need them."

The group of women giggled. Adrian's eyes flashed behind him – but he continued to face Veronica.

Oh, so he's one of those guys.

Veronica could see it now, she'd seen it plenty of times. Groups like these went all sex crazy—based on the tiny bit of information she got, the Prince was looking for a match, but she didn't know the rest of his trip would be spent cleaning up sweaty puddles and condoms.

She wanted to roll her eyes, he was a typical empowered misogynistic man. Still, though, she couldn't help but feel nervous.

The whole group turned within the tight hallway and began to filter through the rest of the ship – Veronica and Adrian were the last ones in the room.

A silence fell between them – she suddenly felt very vulnerable.

"Again, your Majesty – I am so sorry, " she felt like a blithering idiot.

Adrian's green eyes flashed and they swept over her, "Don't worry, you can make it up to me later – Veronica."

He walked out but his eyes lingered at her for a moment before heading out the door.

She blushed, feeling the heat within her – the feeling was strange to her now. It was a feeling that she hadn't felt for a long time.

  Chapter 3

To say that Adrian was impressed would have been an understatement. It was like looking at a jewel from the other side of a glass—you want to touch it but you can't.

He could simply snap his fingers, and demand Veronica's body.

But, he was on this boat for the exact reason to find himself a bride.

But damn, Veronica had put up a fight that he had never seen, one that he never would have witnessed if she hadn't mistaken him for someone else. Veronica led the way, the group of ladies behind him.

Out of all the women in the boat, his eyes raked over Veronica's body. Her fire was instant—it was independent, it didn't care if he was a Prince for those first few moments. If it had been any other day, he would simply sweep her into his arms and plunged into her right there.

That probably won't make a good impression on the ladies.

But, he shoved the thought aside, this wasn't an ordinary day—nor, an ordinary trip.

This was a perfect boat though, he looked around admiring—it was large enough for some privacy and small enough to feel like it was a private home. He could simply imagine all the crazy sex escapades he could have here, running through the halls—playing hide and go peek.

Maybe this won't be so bad after all.

He could just picture it now, over a dozen women at his feet, slobbering as he chose one. He would try them out first, a wicked smile played on his lips.

That was, honestly, the best part—that the ladies would willingly strip for him, letting him do whatever he pleased with them—after all, he should make sure his future wife was great in bed, right? But the thought saddened him too—once married, he wouldn't have his share of women—not if he wanted to keep up a good public image. What remained of his sex life would be over in one week—and he wanted to make it a good one.

They entered a large room, it glittered with chandeliers and a wooden dance floor in the middle.

Veronica displayed her hand to showcase the room, "And this is the ballroom, for the larger parties than the dining area can afford."

So far, he was impressed. There was a large dock on top, that Veronica said was private.

He grinned, he thought of sex with the night time stars as the women rode him.

He looked around the group of women. Megan had chosen the cream of the crop—all of them were eligible, and able to join his royal family—duchesses and countesses. They were all gorgeous and also very willing to be his play thing for the weekend in hopes of being his wife.

This was a sweet deal for many of them—but in the back of his mind, he heard the nagging voice.

  What if it doesn't work?

But Veronica's voice interrupted his doubt as she led them through the rest of the boat. His eyes kept lingering on her ass under that tight skirt. He pulled at his collared shirt, his blazer suddenly feeling tight.

I have business to do— he told himself, trying to focus. He let his eyes wander over the women behind him—they wore shining smiles as they batted their eyelashes at them. But his eyes really wanted to linger elsewhere. The women followed behind him, as he walked behind Veronica, his eyes disobeying him.

This would only take a week until he made the announcement to Parliament.

Finally, they made it to his suite.

Veronica opened her hand towards it. It was huge.

When she opened the door, he was greeted by large windows too, ones that seemed to overlook the entire ocean. The ocean sparkled behind them. The tall ceiling was lined with gold flakes, and the walls were painted a royal red and a soft blue. It looked like it was made him, both royal but also calm like the ocean that displayed behind them. He could practically smell the ocean through the windows. He would have lots of fun fucking women in this room.

The women rushed into the room, admiring some of the decor and the view. Some were mildly impressed, making snide comments as they poked and prodded at some of the furniture.

He could only guess that they were trying to show off, show Adrian how cool and sophisticated they were. He wasn't immune to their plans, he knew women well. He knew the kinds of games they played.

One of the women, a voluptuous blond with a piercing stare, sprawled onto the bed, facing Adrian as she opened her legs.

"This looks way too comfy," she said.

Her eyes pierced into Adrian's—she was focused on him as she spread her legs wide. She was completely unashamed of her open legs and the women around them.

  He liked that.

Cressida, he remembered her name from the files Megan had given him.

"Don't get too comfy," he said, his eyes daring, "I doubt that piece of furniture will be the only one seeing action."

He winked at her, Cressida smiled, wickedly. He liked playing games too.

But, Adrian noticed, that she didn't blush—she must be familiar with these games. He liked to see his women squirm, but still he wouldn't cut her off the list just yet, he needed someone to drape over his arm perfectly.

The rest of the women giggled. But clearly, some of them would be out of their league.

Oh well, he thought with a smile, I can still play with them.

He heard a cough behind him, he turned to meet Veronica's dark eyes.

"The boat will leave the harbor in a few minutes—tomorrow is our first stop and dinner will be announced over the ship's PA system—" she bowed her head slightly, "Please ring me if you need anything—my number should have been given to you by your assistant."

  Megan nodded in confirmation.

Adrian turned to her, his back toward the women to give them some privacy.

"So Veronica—will you be taking care of m
e this whole trip?"

  She nodded eagerly.

"And, Megan let you know the purpose for this trip?" he eyed them both, Veronica and Megan stood close.

Veronica nodded, "Yes, sir." Her eyes shone brightly, like she was hyper aware of the escapades—perhaps still embarrassed from moments ago.

Adrian nodded, pleased, "So you're aware that you will be asked to perform many and possibly strange duties—are you prepared?"

She nodded quickly, but Adrian held out a hand, "You don't even know what I am asking for yet."

Veronica held out a hand as if in apology, "Please—feel free to request anything, I am sorry to have inconvenienced you enough—no demand will be too big or too small."

Adrian chuckled, "It's definitely not small."

He was definitely talking about his dick. He loved to play with the staff like that, sometimes he would play with staff more than that. But, those were just for fun.

Veronica's eyes widened, and her cheeks flushed, she stammered, "Just—um, ring my phone and I'll be at your door as soon as possible."

He liked to see the heat in her cheeks.

  Focus, Adrian.

He cleared his throat, trying to return to the subject, "OK, thanks Veronica."

Veronica left in a hurry, muttering about getting dinner ready.

Adrian heard squeals behind him, he turned to see the beginning of a pillow fight between the women. They wouldn't give him a break, their playful eyes falling onto his, to check that he was watching.

He felt an elbow in his rib.

"I thought you might not make it to dinner," Megan said next to him.

He looked down at her for a moment, trying to focus on the bouncing ladies on his bed, "What's that supposed to mean?"

"It means," she cleared her throat, "You wanted to eat her up—that Veronica."

He scoffed, it wasn't embarrassing or anything, but why would he be focused on the service when he had a dozen women right here? He liked his bad boy persona, thank you very much.

"Meg—I'm a flirt, I can't help it," he tried to show a convincing smile.

But she had a point, he kind of did want to eat her.

"Not like that—I could cut the tension between you two with a butter knife."

He looked at her with a smirk, "Don't confuse me for someone who cares, Meg."

Of all people, she should know him the best, right?

Suddenly, the PA system went on with a soft chime, "The bar and hors d'oeuvre is served at the pool."

Megan escaped out the door, leaving him to the horde of drooling women trying to sweep him into their arms.

  Chapter 4

A nervous wave struck her – she usually had enough time to research all the political and social profiles of her guests. But, she barely had any scoop on the Prince but their first meeting didn’t go so great. He seemed to peer into her soul, and she didn’t have any information on him. And, she was usually able to get additional information from their past hosts – to get to know their passions and temptations.

Years in this industry had taught her several tricks— especially when you have bad people looking for you, always knowing where you are. She had taken several lessons from her less than savory friends.

Each time someone came aboard – they felt isolated and empowered. Usually, their secrets would come out – and she would be the only want to support their delicate affairs. She ran back to her room to do her due diligence.

She looked over his social profiles on-line. The man was excellent at everything.

He was almost a goody two shoes – the only real son and heir to the entire country. He was philanthropic and kind, and very giving to charities – but, the tabloids had pointed out, he had a sweet tooth for many, many women.

She could only guess what kind of requests he would make. All of the photos that he had on-line of him were usually accompanied by thin and beautiful women. On his arms, were draped models and actresses and royalty.

  Her cell rang.

  Veronica looked at it, freezing.

The number was unknown—and that filled her with dread. It was a text message.

  She swiped it open, gulping.

  * * *

I hear you are coming this way—make sure you're prepared.

She cringed, fear ran through her. Her hands began to shake immediately while she set the phone down. She took a deep breath—how did he know she was coming? She damned them all. They ran her life—they owned her. She thought to the safe in her room, at least she had it this time. That was a mistake she would never make again.

She took a deep breath, trying to push away the fear—she hated disembarking there, she knew he would find her.

There was a knock at the door.

She looked up from her desk, to see Dexter's smile beaming back at her.

He was the youngest on board – but he was one hell of a bartender. Luckily, she had picked him up several months ago – his warm demeanor had made a good impression on her – and he had become a good friend.

Good thing for her too – his interests lied only with men, making him an excellent confidant for her growing problems as her wedding day got near.

He beamed at her, "Did you hear who's on board?"

He practically bounced up and down. Of course she knew, but Dexter loved the theatrics.

Veronica chuckled, and smiled at him, "Don't tell me – are you thinking of seducing the Prince?"

Dexter pretend to faint against the door – throwing his hand to his forehead.

"I'm sure the Prince has a soft spot for someone like me," he swooned.

Veronica couldn't help but laugh – it really would be anyone’s dream to be seduced by a Prince. She shook her head at Dexter.

"Maybe you can use your magic with your drinks to somehow win him over to your side."

Immediately, Dexter's eyes glistened – as if the idea had made his night.

He suddenly giggled, "Girl – you know that they always fall for you instead –" he pretended to swoon, "I can't even win against you."

She blushed and told him thanks, she had plenty of guys throw themselves at her during the trips – but she knew, that they only wanted a temporary thing. She needed security – she needed a commitment.

She would miss Dexter, that's for sure.

He seemed to read her mind.

"Only two more weeks girl – and then you're out of our hair," He smiled a soft but sad smile.

She shrugged – trying to act like it was no big deal, but she could feel the tears behind her eyes.

"I'm sure – I'm sure and I'm going to find life treating me well out there." She averted her eyes from him, she wasn't so sure.

She knew he would be looking at her with caring.

"You know – you're always welcome to stay here with us – in case it doesn't work out."

Her eyes went to him immediately – although it was what she wanted, her life simply didn't work out that way.

And, she didn't want anyone to make her second-guess.

Her eyes automatically scanned her office – she had so many memories. She had dozens of photos, from different aspects of her journey.

Some of her photos were of famous celebrities, some of world renowned gurus, and others – simply her friends and family. She had so many memories on the ship – it had been a real taste of freedom, one that she hadn't felt in a long time. She didn’t even think of her life back home. She recalled it often but always pushed it to the side. Her mother worked in the bustling bay area, and Veronica was raised by only her. Then, she had met Duncan, and her life changed forever. And so, Veronica was not exactly thrilled to ever think of home, and how her life had turned out. But now, she had to face reality. She had to face the mistakes that riddled her past.

  Her stomach lurched.

"I don't see why he's making you go home," Dexter said with a frown. He picked his fingernails as he did when he talked about something unco
mfortable, looking at them with intensity.

"Men like him," Veronica repeated what Brian had told her, "need a stable woman – a normal family life, with kids and a white picket fence."

Dexter rolled his eyes, "How sweet – a real Stepford wife."

  His voice slathered with sarcasm.

Veronica felt the same pang of guilt her stomach – as if she was betraying herself – but this is the only way.

She closed her laptop, finally getting up so she can attend to the Prince and his crazy horde of women.

She had to admit that she didn’t want to be an ordinary woman, just someone who was quiet and listened to every word her husband said. But, as captain, Brian had been the cream of the crop. He liked her and he had the money to prove it. She felt like ag gold digger, but really, she also felt like their relationship was mutual. They both wanted something.

She wrapped an arm around Dexter, who smiled at her gently, "I'm gonna miss you."

She nodded, trying to fight back tears.

"I'm gonna miss all of you too."

  Chapter 5

Adrian didn't know which way to turn. He needed to get out of here – he was getting bombarded with women. As soon as Megan had left, the women flocked to him, as if she was his bodyguard too. They tried to rope him in.

Usually, he would take them in his arms, but the pressure to choose just one—it suddenly weighed on him—realizing that he needs to pick someone he can tolerate, and hopefully love. It would make things easier.

He headed out of the hallway and out into a deck. It had a roof so it must have been below the top deck. He wondered where the pool was, if the women didn't find him, they would sure find the pool.

It was quiet out here—the sea salt stirring bittersweet memories of his mother. He leaned against the railing—hoping none of the women would follow him. He picked his phone out of his pocket, he checked it constantly—wondering when his stepfather would realize that he had gone sailing for a purpose—his last fight against his stepfather.

Bitter memories haunted him. His stepfather had never liked him, and neither did his brothers. He remembered being so happy to finally get siblings, to not be an only child, but once they all met, well it wasn’t pretty.
